Sibelius Editing 2
In this class, clean up MusicXML data extracted from SharpEye which can be loaded into Sibelius. Try to match the original edition as closely as possible (without wasting too much time, of course). Choose a movement of the Beethoven Piano Sonatas to work on.
Example: Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 1, Movement 1
- Here is the original scan which was used in SharpEye: Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 1, mvmt. 1
- Here is the uncleaned (but corrected) MusicXML data exported from SharpEye: sonata01-1.xml
- Here is what the music looks like in Sibelius immediately after loading the previous file: sonata01-1-uncleaned.pdf. This file should be compared to the automatically generated notation from lilypond (PDF), and abcm2ps (PDF)
- Here is what the music looks like after manual cleaning: Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 1, mvmt. 1
